BUILD PLANS: DADO JIG

£15.00

BOTH METRIC + IMPERIAL DIMENSIONS ARE PROVIDED

Learn how to build the Dado Jig I use to ensure I get the PERFECT and safest cut every time! If you don’t have a Dado Stack for your table saw… this is the best alternative I’ve found and works like a dream. It’s also great if you’re working with a large piece, or wanting to do stop dado’s; it saves you taking your work to the machines AND saves a huge amount of time as you can just whip out a jig and get cracking! This will ensure you get a square and accurate cut each time and means you can spend your hours on other parts of the build (how efficient!!)

It’s super easy to build and will definitely help you to level up those woodworking projects. These plans cover two different options, using a flush trim router bit (template bit) or a guide bush collar and have been created with detailed, 3D drawings with dimensions, step by step instructions and tips along the way.

So what exactly is a Dado? (also known as a housing joint). If you didn’t already know, it’s basically a groove that goes across the grain. I personally use Dado’s for slotting my pieces together (for example the upright dividers in a sideboard) as it keeps things nice and square and is a seamless, clean and sleek looking design; plus it makes glue ups much easier! This jig will also allow you to make the exact width Dado for your project.

And it doesn’t just cover Dado’s either. With the help of the stop blocks, you can create a Stopped Dado, where the cut doesn’t go through the entire board, as well as Mortices & even Rebates.

WHAT WILL I NEED?

  • A QUARTER SHEET OF PLYWOOD, T-TRACK, A FEW BOLTS, STAR KNOBS & SCREWS

  • TOOLS: TABLE SAW (OR TRACK SAW/CIRCULAR SAW WITH A STRAIGHT EDGE) DRILL, ROUTER, CLAMPS, CHISEL

Enjoy!!
